Big Local is an exciting opportunity for residents in 150 areas around England to use at least £1m to make a massive and lasting positive difference to their communities. It’s about bringing together all the local talent, ambitions, skills and energy from individuals, groups and organisations who want to make their area an even better place to live. A local panel, made up of residents from Mablethorpe, Trusthorpe and Sutton on Sea, have developed a plan that has been approved by Local Trust.
As part of that Plan, the Community Foundation is managing a small grants pot to assist with the early development of community projects that benefit people living in the Big Local area.
Grants of up to £500 are available to not for profit community groups. Projects might include assistance for mental health support groups; activities that help older people live independently; support for families struggling to survive in the current economic climate; youth activities in the area; a job club; sporting activities; dementia support; stimulating opportunities for older people; support for people living with domestic violence; activities for people with disabilities; food larders; bereavement care, support and advice for carers.
Applications should address at least one the following themes: Sport & Leisure, Health & Poverty, Environment, Childrens’ services, Crime, Employability, Education, Art & Heritage.
To obtain and application form, or for an informal chat about your idea, please contact Sue Fortune at the Foundation on or why not call into The Boatshed on a Monday, Tuesday or Friday between 10-12 for advice.
