A new range of parking permits and paying by mobile phone are set to make life easier for motorists using East Lindsey District Council-run car parks.
Paying for parking by mobile phone using a credit or debit card means you do not have to have the right change when paying to park. Additionally, if the parking period you previously purchased by phone is about to expire before you are ready to return to your car, simply text to extend it from anywhere without the need to display a ticket in your car.
For residents who use car parks on a regular basis parking permits are available which significantly reduce the cost of parking in any East Lindsey District Council run-car park. Parking permits offer the best value for money when parking in Council owned car parks – from just 22p per day which means big savings for motorists
The Council’s Portfolio Holder for the Environment, Councillor Steve O’Dare, said: “Following the Council’s review of car parking arrangements in the District, we have put measures in place to offer more flexible options for residents, businesses and visitors and at a vastly reduced cost if choosing to buy a permit.
“Giving the option to pay by mobile phone, or to buy parking permits for a range of different durations gives motorists a bigger choice of how they pay for their parking and allows them to do so in a way that is most convenient for them.”
To register for the pay by phone parking service you will need to text PARK and your vehicle registration number to 60300. You will then receive a call to take your payment details.
To use the service once you have registered you will need to text PARK, the car park location number which will be found on the pay and display board of any participating car park, and duration required to 60300 (for example: PARK 987465 3 HOURS). To extend your stay from and location you will be able to text EXTEND and the duration required to 60300 (for example EXTEND 2 HOURS).
Motorists can still pay for parking in cash at pay and display points.
Full details will be displayed at all participating car parks and can also be found at www.e-lindsey.gov.uk/parking along with details on parking permits and their costs.
