The Royal British Legion launches this year’s Poppy Appeal Nationally on Saurday 26th October 2013.
The Mablethorpe Branch will be collecting at Lidls and the Co-op from 8am and there are collecting boxes distributed throughout Mablethorpe, Trusthorpe and Sutton on Sea, so please don’t forget to get your poppy.
Shoulder to Shoulder with all that Serve, the Royal British legion has been helping Service people and their families past and present for 90 years. Although their needs have changed over time the need for the Legions work is as vital as ever.
Mablethorpe has always proven to be outstanding in supporting the troops via the Poppy Appeal and we would like to make this year a record year. Please wear your Poppy with pride
As part of Operation ATTAR the Mablethorpe and Wainfleet neighbourhood policing teams will be carrying out the marking of Mobility Scooters in the area, this event will take place at the Co-op store on Seacroft Road in Mablethorpe on Monday 2nd December 2013 from 9:00am until 3:00pm.
Each Microchip is sold to members of the public for a small administration fee of £5.00 and fitted to their scooter. This charge covers the initial costs of each unique chip. Once stamped each scooter carries its own individual identity, which not only assists officers to reunite property back to it’s rightful owner but assists when dealing with reported incidents, thus speeding up their inquiries.
Should members of the public require further information please feel free to email the team or subsequently call 101 for further information.
Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue has been officially informed by the Fire Brigades Union (FBU) of their intention to commence strike action on Saturday, 19 October from 6:30pm until 11:30pm.
The Service is prepared to maintain an emergency response to 999 calls during this period of strike action.
We are confident that our robust plans will enable us to answer 999 calls and respond to incidents as quickly as possible, but continue to ask members of the public to be fire safety aware.

Public toilets at the Dunes Gardens, Quebec Road, in Mablethorpe will be locked from 4.30pm due to continued vandalism and anti-social behaviour.
Over the past couple of weeks there has been an increase in vandalism and anti-social behaviour including toilet roll holders and soap dispensers ripped from walls, toilet seats snapped off, windows and roof tiles damaged and names burned into surfaces.
This has led to the decision being made to close the toilets at 4.30pm rather than the usual 8pm closing time at this time of year. From October 31, as planned, the toilets will be closed from 4pm through the winter months.
The Council’s Portfolio Holder for the Environment, Councillor Steve Newton, said: “We have tried to keep the toilets open as long as possible, especially in an attempt to meet the needs of last week’s Mablethorpe Marathon, but it is unacceptable that our toilets are subject to this level of repeated vandalism. Until the matter is resolved we will be closing the toilets each day from 4.30pm.”
