Mablethorpe Coastal Centre Drop-in Service To Celebrate It’s First Anniversary

The Coastal Centre drop-in service in Mablethorpe will celebrate its first anniversary on Tuesday 4th March.

The service aims to be the first stop for Mablethorpe-area residents looking for free help and support on a wide range of issues such as housing and debt, dealing with anti-social behaviour, writing a CV, applying for work and volunteering.

The organisations taking part in this weekly drop-in include East Lindsey District Council’s housing advice team and health trainers, National Careers Service, Waterloo Housing, Royal British Legion, Lincolnshire Credit Union, Lincolnshire Police and the Lincolnshire Community and Voluntary Service.

The Council’s Portfolio Holder for the Environment, Councillor William Gray, said: “This is a fantastic project which I am pleased the Council is part of. It is important that people can access free advice and support and I would urge anyone with a particular issue they would like to discuss to pop along and see how the various organisations, including the District Council, can help.”

The Coastal Centre, situated on Victoria Road, Mablethorpe, will host the open day to celebrate the one year anniversary on Friday, March 4. Doors will open at 10am and there will be a presentation at 10.30am.

Residents are encouraged to go along to find out more about the drop-in service and how the various organisations can help them.

Councillor Tony Howard, chairman of the Boatshed Charity which runs the building, added: Since the most recent welfare reforms more people are having difficulties with a range of issues. We have managed to get these agencies together so that people can get the help that they need in one place to ease them through difficult times.”

The drop-in sessions take place every Tuesday between 10am and 1pm when residents can drop in, have a cup of tea and find out how the service can help them.
